“A Little … Each Day”

I have “resoluted” that my mantra for 2009 is going to be “a little each day”.  I want to try and do a little more of some things like; exercising, writing, reading, helping others and staying in contact with friends and family and a little less of some things like; complaining, watching TV, snacking and worrying.

For some reason I have always felt like I needed to make large, wholesale changes in my life and needed to see immediate results and feedback in order to convince myself that I was growing as a husband, father and human being.  All this has done is to lead to disappointment, fear and discouragement.

This year I have decided to take a step back and try to enjoy the journey a little more and worry about the destination a little less.  I will still “keep my eye on the prize” as it were, but I try and live my life through a wide angle lens instead of a telephoto one.
